Children receiving occupational therapy participate in creating and executing therapeutic activities in a dynamic and interactive process to change his or her behavior and performance.

The children seen by Maurena are given opportunities for a variety of sensory experience in a collaborative process where they learn to share control over activity choice and sequence.

Activities are neither too easy, nor too difficult, as the child is guided to use goal-directed responses that match the demand of the activity.

Maurena uses playful and engaging activities to build on your child’s motivation and desire. The activities are structured to allow the child to experience success when responding to a challenge. In this way, your child’s emotional, abilities, and desires are respected in an environment of safety and trust.
