About Dr. Bob

My Trauma Story

In 2001, I was working on Wall Street as a Program Manager of CIGNA’s Employee Assistance Program, helping Fortune 500 companies with their EAP services. After the planes hit the World Trade Center on the morning of 9/11/01, my coworkers and I evacuated from our site two blocks away.

We didn’t know it at the time, but the very next day we would begin helping survivors to determine what happened, grieve, cope with fear, and overcome trauma.

I worked with senior leaders of a major company in the Trade Center towers that lost over 600 employees, some of whom I had collaborated with during the summer of 2001.

I helped them as they cried and struggled to figure out how to make meaning in their lives following what was indescribable and unfathomable.

This experience was seared into my brain as it was for so many of us who were downtown and in NYC that awful day. It gave me a deep appreciation of the experience of trauma survivors and enabled me to employ the advanced techniques of Neuro-Linguistic Programming in a manner that is both respectful of them as individuals, as well as highly effective at helping them resolve traumatic symptoms.

After My 9/11 Experience

Since then, I have helped hundreds of people resolve trauma and phobia using techniques from the greatest clinical masters in the field of psychotherapy and hypnotherapy.

The methods I utilize are evidence-based and have been shown to be effective in phobia and trauma resolution.

With my help, people have overcome phobias associated with heights, elevators, trains, planes, automobiles, stairs, escalators, doctor’s offices, and more.

In terms of trauma, I have helped many people resolve problems that span from childhood to 9/11 to a recent bad experience.

Our Sessions

Before scheduling our first session, I will provide you with a free phone consultation to discuss your concern and give you feedback about whether the techniques I use will work for you.

I will not schedule an appointment with you unless: a) I believe that I can help you achieve your desired outcome, and b) you feel comfortable talking with me by phone, which is a good indicator that you will feel comfortable with me in person.

Sessions are usually 50-60 minutes, with the initial session going up to 90 minutes. Hypnotherapy and psychotherapy sessions are done both in person and online via teletherapy. Teletherapy is done via a HIPAA-compliant secure application that can run on any computer or smartphone with a camera. Coaching sessions can be telephonic or video chat. See the Virtual Resilience Coaching section of this website for more information.
